About
More About Jenny Jacobson:I am a  staff chaplain with Chaplaincy Health Care in Tri-Cities WA. I am a bit of a "utility player" trained in behavioral, hospice, hospital and corrections chaplaincy. I currently serve in the county jail and regional medical center. This is a relatively new career development for me. I began work as a full time chaplain just about the time Governor Inslee shut down the State of Washington sde to Covid in 2020. Nothing like getting thrown into the deep end, eh?I had spent most of the previous twenty or so years raising my kids after their father and I divorced, working three jobs in the gig economy (teaching voice lessons in the school district, singing solo at local churches and Shift Supervisor/Barista at the local Starbucks) to make ends meet and keep body & soul together. Once my youngest, Lydia, went away to college I enrolled myself in graduate school. I received a Master of Divinity Degree from Brite Divinity school affiliated with Texas Christian University  in Fort Worth Texas. The years leading up to grad school were mostly all work, no play except for a labor of love project we simply called " choir room theater."  A group of young theater artists mostly from Collin College in Plano TX and I gathered in the choir room of the  church where I directed choir to do a one-off table read of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis.  It was a powerful lens through which we all discovered new things about ourselves, our faith or no faith, and the religious powers that be who had not been a means of grace for these young people. All of us were misfits, living our lives, some in, some out of the closet, situated at various points on the axis of rainbow and relative privilege. The one off turned into a semi-staged reading with three performances and talk back.  Putting Judas on trial was cathartic and transformative.  The actors called themselves Jenn's orphans. Over the years we put on three full-length plays and two showcases of original one acts they wrote themselves - in that same choir room.I raised four incredible adult humans, and am delighted to be the grandmom of ten compassionate, creative humans and the grateful Cat Mom of Eloise and Madeleine, adopted as rescue kittens at the start of the pandemic to keep me sane.--More about Seth:Seth is a tarot reader with a passion for serving the LGBTQ community. Since launching ComingOutTarot, he helps gay men have stronger and healthier relationships. He received his first tarot deck at 10, came out of the closet at 19, and officially came out of the tarot closet at 40 with ComingOutTarot. He uses tarot to make sense of his client’s queer experiences in a increasingly challenging heteronormative world. Seth and his husband live just outside Chicago with their rescue ferrets. If you like The Fool’s Journey, GET MORE on Patreon.
