After leaving his brother Vibhishana went to the opposite shore and approached Rama’s camp. He surrendered at Rama's feet and Rama could never refuse anyone who had taken refuge in him. Rama then asked Vibhishana for his advice on how to cross the ocean. This is the story of how the vanara army made it across to Lanka's shores.
