Hello and welcome to episode 7 of Bloody Britain and this week please allow Caz and Loz to take you back to Blitz torn London.The year is 1942 and Hitler is doing his best to annihilate Great Britain, with a relentless bombing campaign, known as 'The Blitz'. Londoners had to keep lighting to a minimum and everyone was ordered to keep the City of London in total darkness, so as to not create an obvious target for the Luftwaffe. Of course, total darkness is a criminals dream come true and domestic crime soared during this period. And for one week in February that year, the iconic streets of London's West End were stalked by a predator known as the Blackout Ripper. No woman was safe and in a very short amount of time the culprit, a fighter pilot called Gordon Cummins, would take the lives of four women and attack two more.
