The versatile writer Rasool Hamzatov, while writing about his motherland does not to get curtailed by any of the forms and literary segments. He was to write free. This is the main reason behind the formation of the book that has come this way.Mera Dagestan (My Dagestan) is one of the most popular books which was originally written in Avar language but has been translated into many languages across the globe.The writer of this book is Rasul Gamzatov who belonged to Soviet Union. He was eleven years old boy when he started writing. He wrote about the young boys running down the clearing while chasing the airplane which landed for the first time. Many of his poems got converted into songs like Gone Sunny Days.The Book is all about the essence of motherland that every individual dwells in his heart across the globe.
