Welcome to the 20th episode of "The Singer - Songwriter Checklist" featuring Rangon Chatterjee . A Songwriter, Composer & Producer hailing from Kolkata, India. Born into a Bengali family steeped in music and the arts, Rangon began his musical journey at an early age. He started learning classical singing during his school days, performing in classical and Nazrul Geeti programs. His musical exposure was diverse, encompassing ghazals, thumris, classical music, and Indian film music, including Bengali and Bollywood songs. During his school years, Rangon was part of the prominent new-age rock band EESHAAN. In 2018, he moved to Mumbai to explore opportunities in Bollywood music. Teaming up with writer and composer Kunaal Vermaa, Rangon co-composed the song called 'Phir Mulaqaat' for the film 'Why Cheat India' starring Emraan Hashmi & Shreya Dhanwanthary and sung by Jubin Nautiyal. In 2019, Rangon and Kunaal Vermaa collaborated again as co-composers on the single 'Tootay Khaab', sung by Armaan Malik. In 2020, Rangon ventured into solo composition, debuting with the movie 'Sayonee'. In 2023, he released his debut single 'Mann Aasmaani Hua' as a singer, which appeared on many top pop chartbuster playlists. Rangon continues to collaborate with independent and playback artists, with a focus on pop music. Looking ahead, Rangon has many exciting projects in the pipeline, including collaborations with artists like Javed Ali, Monali Thakur, Nakash Aziz, Sharvi Yadav, Prakriti Kakar, and Sukriti Kakar, among others. Additionally, he is working on his EP, which will be a complete pop album reflecting his own thoughts, featuring prominent national and international collaborations. ______
