A very lonely, depressed person decides to take a trip to a secluded island of the Bahamas, hopeful that it can cure the illness that seems to be spreading inside their head, and find some peace. It turns out to be just the tranquil, life affirming vacation they hoped for. Until the last day. When a tsunami strikes the island, wiping away most of the people, leaving the hero, and a few select people, stranded alone at the wealthy resort that sits atop the lone hill on the island. One of the locals explains that the last time there was a deadly wave, people began to wash up on shore, but not as they were before.
