We know the place. We know the people. And, we’re supposed to feel safe. These true crime stories have shown us many times, however, that the feeling of safety we receive in our homes is a fabrication, and that the lines of delineation between “inside/ours,” and “outside/theirs” can be blurred, and that people who wish to harm others either have no respect for the sanctity of other people’s homes, or, as is often the case, actually come from that inner circle of so-called ‘trusted’ people. The same can be said of the places where we work. In this story, we will see that murder can sometimes come from co-workers, from those we see every day and work alongside. This is the story of Alton Nolen and the murder of Colleen Hufford.
