About

Some thoughts about Pride 2022.Season 2 of The Fool’s Journey is going to be about going deeper in relationships. And that got me thinking about my relationship to Pride this year. Because I’m struggling. I’m resisting. I’m feeling a dissonance I wasn’t sure how to explain. Well, that’s starting to come out here. How are you feeling about Pride this year? LMK in Spaces. Here’s a preview…So I think my resistance to Pride this year is because I’m lost in contempt for the crowd that is overwhelmingly straight and only there for the sanitized party of queer fabulousness. And to that I say - $#%KU. Because we’re being killed. Because we’re ignored. Because we’re a party in June. Because we’re the scrubbed Queer Eye. Because queer reproductive health was slammed unapologetically with this recent ruling. Because SCOTUS said “I’m coming for you now. I’m coming for anyone who’s had queer sex. Who’s in a queer marriage. And I’m coming for your RIGHTS.” and you’re at a party!I don’t feel overwhelmed by all this. It’s not that I’m overwhelmed, it’s that there’s SO MUCH. And I need to sit with that. Because pretty soon this Bull and his horns are headed somewhere. And without a direction I can’t get there chasing red flags in a large arena. So if you’re Queer and celebrating this year - Wear your puppy maskWear the assess chapsBeat your face for the godsLet the glitter rainLet them see your body in all its queer gloryShare your scarsReclaim slursScream about the death of queer trans women , POC, inequity in healthcare, violence, inequity, gun control, and increasing suicides in teensKiss a strangerBring your chosen, poly, open relationship familyKeep your children safe in the best way for you Vogue and Kiki and performEvery time you have sex it’s an act of rebellion AND it brings more love into this worldBe unapologetically youAnd be safe this year. Safety for me means that I need to stay home. Because my sense of SELF needs to heal before I can put myself back out with PRIDE.--More about Seth:Seth is a tarot reader with a passion for serving the LGBTQ community.
