It is beyond and much more than living a good life. The Christian life is the Life of Christ Himself. Through the Sacrament of Baptism Christ has grafted us into Himself. Describing this Mystery, St. Paul says, "But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in their place to share the rich root of the olive tree, do not boast over the branches." (Romans 11:17) This is about the Sacrament of Baptism. St. John Eudes (1602-1680) was a French Priest. As a 14-year-old teenager, he had taken the vow of chastity. He became a Priest at the age of 21. He used special Devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Holy Heart of the Blessed Mother Mary to awaken his people spiritually. Describing Christian Life, St. John Eudes said, “The Christian life is a continuation and completion of the life of Christ in us." The indwelling of Christ is the central aspect of Christian Life. That is why St. Paul says, "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me." (Galatians 2:19b-20a) Crucifixion with Christ reveals the Sacrament of Baptism.
