Follow our host on Marlynn Jones, TheCareerSkillsArchitect on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.This is a JustEldredge Media Production---------------------Kathryn Statz began her career as an intern at the NCAA national office in 1989 and worked full-time on the enforcement staff thereafter. Statz’s roles in collegiate athletics have included at a conference office and on campus at both Marquette University and DePaul University. Much of her career included NCAA rules compliance and sports oversight and working with departmental contracts and agreements. Statz earned her law degree at Marquette in 2000. She entered the consulting world as an associate with the Dan Beebe Group, later Protection For All Consulting, working with institutions around the country to assess policies and practices and conduct training on avenues for dealing with misconduct. Statz returned to DePaul and joined the Title IX staff as a part-time investigator in August 2018, moved to full-time status in November 2019, and became the Director of Gender Equity/Title IX Coordinator in January 2020.  In her current role, Statz oversees a team of investigators and a case manager. The team responds to reports of potential violations of DePaul policy and compliance with state and federal law.
