About

Episode #113Things I’ve Seen People Do With and Without FoodDebra Spector M.S, R.D.N, C.D.NDebra Spector M.S, R.D.N, C.D.N is a Registered and Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist who has upheld a private practice since 1990 on Long Island, New York (Nassau and Suffolk Counties) as a nutritional therapist, mentor, educator, entrepreneur, and consultant. She holds an Undergraduate Degree from SUNY at Oneonta and received her master’s degree along with completing her Internship at Long Island University. Debra specializes in eating disorders and treats adults, teenagers and adolescents. Her philosophy is meeting everyone’s needs individually and guiding them to achieve a normal relationship with food, weight, and body image. In addition, Debra strongly believes in guiding teenagers and adolescents away from the “good food vs. bad food” or “healthy vs. unhealthy” philosophy and to encourage them to find a way to make “all foods fit”. Debra also authored the book, The Things I’ve Seen People Do With and Without Food which has recently been chosen to receive The Pinnacle Book Achievement Award, as one of the Best Books in Health category, winter 2022. Her decision to put together this book of collections was primarily based upon the fact that she believes most people who struggle with eating disorders are either silently struggling alone or misunderstood. Debra believes everyone who struggles with an eating disorder should find their inner voice and be heard. More importantly, she wants those suffering to know that they are not alone.
