About
On Wednesday the 7th of August 1963, a travelling post office train set off from Glasgow in Scotland and made its way down to London Euston station. The mail was sorted en route and this train contained a high value package coach with a significant amount of money on board that needed to be sorted. The train would never make it to London as not far from its destination one of the biggest robberies in UK history took place.Sources for this episode:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gdw1IJdApM https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21619150https://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/police-forces/thames-valley-police/areas/au/about-us/thames-valley-police-museum/the-great-train-robbery/https://www.postalmuseum.org/collections/great-train-robbery/https://www.btp.police.uk/police-forces/british-transport-police/areas/about-us/about-us/our-history/crime-history/great-train-robbery/https://www.crimeandinvestigation.co.uk/crime-files/great-train-robberySubscribe to 10 Minute True Crime on: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/10-minute-true-crime/id1591474862Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7jA7tKP9gNMfbB6QgEc8Qf?si=fd8e0dd39c144536Follow 10 Minute True Crime on Social Media: Twitter: https://twitter.com/10MinTrueCrimeInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/10MinuteTrueCrime/Make sure to subscribe to listen to the next episodes in the series!
