About

Described by one guest as “Flint’s best day”, the last Saturday in August means it’s the Crim Family of races, and this year the 10-mile start line is brought to us by our friends at Consumer’s Energy. On this week’s show, we share all the info you need for this exciting event, plus what it means for the Flint community. We were very excited to meet Crim Fitness Foundation Director of External Affairs Brandon Morgan at the Starlite Diner in Flint to record this segment. He explained that “once people learn about the race” they get introduced to all of the good that the Crim Foundation does year-round in Flint. From mindfulness training to making sure school walking routes are safe, to encouraging healthy, active lifestyles, the Crim Foundation, with help from partners like Consumers Energy, serves the community as a whole to the tune of millions of dollars a year. You don’t have to be a runner to come and enjoy the Crim, there are tons of events leading up to the races, and Saturday always turns out to be quite the community party. Brandon shares some of his favorite places to set up and watch the races, plus many of the fun activities that will be open to all during this weekend event, which is expected to draw upwards of 50,000 people to Flint on August 25 and 26 2023.
