In Luke Chapter 9, Jesus sends out the twelve apostles to preach and perform miracles. He feeds the 5,000 with only five loaves of bread and two fish. He tells his disciples that he will suffer and die, and that they must take up their own crosses and follow him. They witness his transfiguration on the mountain and try to cast out a demon but fail. Jesus rebukes them and continues to teach and perform miracles.
