About
Nia Youngest initially became a professional advocate for developmentally disabled individuals and individuals with a mental illness in 2009. Over the years, she was a Program Associate, Residential Counselor, and Mental Health Technician. She worked in Residential Group Homes, Day Programs, and a Rehab Treatment Facility. Above all one of Nia’s main focuses is helping the youth. Nia has impacted the youth with her position as a Youth Specialist at a youth homeless shelter. As a Youth Educator; she is a para professional in an exceptional school that caters to children with developmental disabilities. “I believe children are our future and I am grateful to have had opportunities to impart wisdom and share knowledge with them,” says Nia.In addition to her full-time job Nia volunteers as an advocate for suicide prevention. She is certified through AFSP to inform people of the affects and importance of suicide prevention. “I am a mother of two, a sister, a daughter, an aunt and friend. I genuinely enjoy helping people and doing my part to make the world a better place,” says Nia.This incredible young lady does not only go above and beyond to help those in her community, but she is also an author and publisher.
