In 2023, the spectacular conservation of the Veit Stoss altar in St. Mary's Basilica in Krakow received the most important European award in the field of cultural and natural heritage - the European Heritage Award / Europa Nostra Award.The altar was carved between 1477 and 1489 by Veit Stoss, an artist hailing from Nuremberg, and is widely considered a Gothic masterpiece.
