About
In this episode, we discuss how paintings can allegedly wreak havoc on their unsuspecting owners from driving them insane to igniting fires. From the beginning of time, humans have sought to capture our likeness through the medium of drawings and stories of spirits being trapped on canvas have ruminated for years. We discuss haunted paintings in horror movies and then explore two terrifying, real-life stories of cursed paintings. Firstly, the legend of the painting, "Man proposes, God disposes", by Edwin Landseer, which allegedly has the power to drive those who look at it to the brink of insanity. Then, we dive into the the fascinating tale of "The Crying Boy" painting by Giovanni Bragolin. A hauntingly, sombre depiction of a teary-eyed child that was rumoured to be the leading cause of numerous house fires in the late 70s and 80s. Hosted on Acast.
