About
Helping Small Business During A Time of Uncertainty with Amanda Dake Many people want to expand their reach outside of their brick and mortar walls. They're ready to get their message out to the masses. Some people get caught up in not understanding the online space. Right now, we have a much more significant reason to do this. Brick and mortars are closed down for the most part. We're in a time frame with a lot of uncertainty. In this week's episode, Tamara Thompson welcomes Amanda Dakes as her special guest. They talk about serving some of those brick and mortar businesses in terms of switching their revenue online. Part One of 'How to Bring a Brick & Mortar Business Online During Time of Uncertainty' Since the coronavirus outbreak, have you ever thought of how you can stay relevant? How you can stay in front of people? It's not about making money all the time. It's about the long game ahead of us. Being of service. Once all of this is over, they're going to remember that you were contributing and filling that gap for them. Later, whenever they're ready to make that move financially, they're going to come to you first. "People are looking for leadership as well as expertise right now because they want to continue to thrive." — Tamara Thompson Now is the perfect time to be seen. Everybody's stuck at home and will probably see your content. Consider asking yourself these questions: How are you spending your time when you're at home? Are you taking advantage of creating video content? Are you doing live streams on Facebook? How can you get that engagement with people? What would you be willing to do for some businesses struggling right now? What kind of questions are people reaching out to you about? Can you go to your audience and ask them what they need help with? These are some of the questions you may need to start thinking about. The list goes on. There are many creative ways to put yourself out there in the media. If you are a business owner that has an idea for an online program or course. Right now is the best time to put that together. What else are you doing? You don't need to offer your services for free just because there's a global crisis. It doesn't mean that people aren't willing to buy and invest in your service. They're looking for leadership as well as expertise right now. They want to continue to thrive. They're looking for experts with programs and services that will help their business. Regardless of what's going on around us, if somebody comes to you for help and they're ready to move forward, then offer them the opportunity to enroll in your programs. Nobody has events right now physically, but there are ways to optimize this virtually. Use your expertise. Figure out how to pivot that into working with the current situation. It doesn't mean you're all of your programs and services behind. Part Two of 'How to Bring a Brick & Mortar Business Online During Time of Uncertainty' It's really a mindset thing at this point. People are almost giving up on themselves. You could be stuck in your house for six months and just go crazy. Because you're not used to this entrepreneurial life. To give people sanity, it would be helpful if you create online courses, products, membership sites, podcasts, or any content that helps you build your business and authority. It's the people that are consistent right now that are going to be remembered. "This is the best time to help people create content that can be launched in the next thirty days or sooner." — Tamara Thompson Sometimes, you're just a little too close to what you do, and you're stuck. So, it's really nice to be the catalyst to move them out of that space and encourage them to start thinking differently than others. There's an opportunity right now to put on actual live events. You can invite others to join in. Think about anything that you do in your current business. You could be available online to help keep that momentum. So people can check some of these things off their lists. Maybe you want to offer online membership, course or program. Perhaps you want to launch a lead generation campaign to start capturing email addresses. Perhaps you do want a YouTube channel. Pick one thing and focus on it at least for a week. If you don't have an online presence right now, the sooner you start the process of having an online presence, whatever that looks like for your business, the sooner you can be ahead of the game. You can stay in touch with your client base, offering them services and planning a fun party at your business after this is over. Like, who knows what you could be doing if you already had started that? If you haven't started, now's a perfect time to go ahead and jump in on the online game or create.
