Dr. Rukhmabai Raut

Rukhmabai Raut was one of the first few Indian women to practice medicine in India. She was also the one who orchestrated the Age of Consent Act, 1891. What is to be noted here that the seeds of her discontent with child marriage were sown by her desire to study.
