2 Timothy 4 contains Paul's final instructions to Timothy before his death. He urges Timothy to preach the Word of God in season and out of season, with patience and teaching. He warns of times where people will no longer listen to sound doctrine, and he exhorts Timothy to remain steadfast against false teachers.Paul also speaks of his own impending death, saying that he has fought the good fight and finished the race. He asks Timothy to come to him soon and brings up the names of some who have abandoned them. Finally, he sends greetings to various people and asks that Timothy come visit him before winter.
