Whether you are listening at home or as your explore the artworks in person, these tours will offer new perspectives on the artworks.For episode two, you are invited to join Folkestone Triennial curator Lewis Biggs and actress, director and writer Jessica Hynes as they follow Plot B: William Harvey's Way.William Harvey (1578–1657) was born in Folkestone in a house near the Guildhall whose household needs were supplied by St Eanswythe’s Water. He was educated in Folkestone before travelling to Padua to study medicine. He was the first physician to describe the systemic circulation and properties of the blood in mammals in his book De Motu Cordis, 1628. The book was revolutionary for its method of argument from experimental procedure and for its description of the heart and circulation of the blood. Harvey became Royal Physician to James I and Charles I, and his statue stands overlooking the sea at the junction of Castle Hill Avenue and The Leas. Artists are invited to use the town as their gallery, utilising public spaces to create striking new art that reflects issues affecting both the town and the wider world. Four Triennials have taken place attracting more than 440,000 visitors. Artists commissioned include Cornelia Parker, Christian Boltanski, Jeremy Deller, Martin Creed, Mark Wallinger, Cristina Iglesias, Richard Wilson, Andy Goldsworthy and AK Dolven.
