Shraddha Kapoor debuted in the heist drama Teen Patti in 2010, alongside big names like Amitabh Bachchan and Ben Kingsley. The movie was best remembered for the jazzy club song Neeyat. She next appeared in another commercial failure Luv Ka The End (2011), although its soundtrack did better with funky and rocking songs like Freak Out and Luv Ka The End. Shraddha rose to prominence with her third release Aashiqui 2 in 2013. The movie’s soundtrack was a major success. It consisted of 11 romantic ballads out of which Tum Hi Ho by Arijit Singh and Sunn Raha Hai by Ankit Tiwari received acclaim. Shraddha’s next venture was the romantic thriller Ek Villain (2014), in which she played a vivacious terminally ill young girl who falls in love with a hardened criminal (played by Sidharth Malhotra). Although the movie was grim and gritty, the soundtrack boasted of delightful hits like Galliyan, Banjaara and Zaroorat, including Galliyan (Unplugged), a remixed version sung by Shraddha Kapoor herself. Her third release Haider (2014) was Vishal Bharadwaj’s critically acclaimed adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, set in the troubled Kashmir Valley. Shraddha Kapoor sang the Kashmiri parts of the serene and beautiful song Do Jahaan for the movie. The dance drama ABCD 2 (2015) had Shraddha showing off her impeccable dance moves to songs like Sun Saathiya and Happy Birthday. She again turned vocalist for the song Sab Tera from the movie Baaghi (2016) and perfected her singing abilities in Rock On 2 (2016) where she had a chance to sing three full songs – Udja Re, Tere Mere Dil and Woh Jahaan. Shraddha received much acclaim for her pristine vocals and effortless singing. She began 2017 with OK Jaanu, a romantic comedy in which she re-united with her Aashiqui 2 co-star Aditya Roy Kapur. The soundtrack by AR Rahman received attention for The Humma Song and Enna Sona. Her next release, Half Girlfriend, based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel by the same name included songs like Baarish and Phir Bhi Tumko Chahunga. Shraddha’s will be next seen in Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai, a biopic based on underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar, who ran a crime circuit of her own.
